Project Description

IN PURSUIT, DANCE! ™ REPLAY

Short Summary

After 23 years of gracing stages worldwide, Spirit of David brings you our first ever web series titled: IN PURSUIT, DANCE!™

Marcus, Loretta, Ethan & Misty are each at varying stages of life, in circumstances shaped by their distinctive backgrounds, experiences, and complexes. In sharing their personal stories, ambitions, and challenges, we give viewers an opportunity to watch – and possibly relate – as these individuals navigate thoughts and emotions that bug them down in their mundane day to day. You will also witness how dance can freely unknot burdens, take away stress, and reduce anxiety and depression.

The Why

Did you know? 20 years of research suggest that Dance/Movement Therapy (DMT) and dance are effective for increasing quality of life and decreasing clinical symptoms such as depression and anxiety. Positive effects were also found on the increase of subjective well-being, positive mood, affect, and body image**.

Through this series, we seek to highlight deep struggles faced by dancers, dance enthusiasts, and even non-dancers as we navigate everyday living. We then shine the spotlight on this not-so-popular application of dance i.e. dance therapy and persuade the viewer to dance… or dance again!
